The fire incident that rocked the Faculty of Humanities Annex building yesterday has left the university community in shock and has garnered sympathy and mixed reactions from far and near.

The IMSU Dean Student Affairs Prof. Martins Uchenna has also reacted to the unfortunate incident.

Reacting to the fire outbreak the Dean Student Affairs, speaking with news correspondents, expressed shock at the strange fire outbreak.

"They just renovated the building last six months. It's a TETFUND NEEDS Assessment project. We just entered here last November and few months after that this is it".

He added that most of the offices went down in flames - Books, journals, laptops, research  materials and laptops were not spared.

"We can't just say this is the exact amount but going by the way it should be it is worth billions and it is not something most of us will recover from in two to three years" he submitted.

Meanwhile the university Public Relations Officer, Obi Njoku revealed that the school's management will convene to plan the next line of action while adding that he could not estimate the value of property lost to the fire.
