The Dean Students Affairs, IMSU Prof. Nwankwo Martins Uchenna has revealed that he would be visiting all IMSU off-campus students alliances including Bishop's Court once the indefinite industrial action embarked upon by ASUU is called off.
The digital Dean made this known today at a meeting with all stakeholders of the Association of Bishop's Court Alliance (ABCA) at the Students Affairs Office.
Stakeholders of the B'Court Students Alliance led by Sir Clef, one of the founding fathers of the alliance and also the brain behind the alliance's name, include the Council of Presidents under the chairmanship of Snr. Comr. Kingsley Amobi. Other delegates present at the meeting include the B'Court Electoral Committee led by the Chairman Snr. Comr. Ifeanyi Josephson Jason, Chief Security Officers (CSOs) B'Court amongst others.
The crucial meeting which began by 1:13pm was in furtherance of the Dean's promises at the first Students Assembly and it bothered on the welfare of B'Court Students; the mounting insecurity challenges; the inconclusive B'Court election and the high cost of hostels.
The stakeholders appealed for a downward review of hostel prizes as some hostels go for as high as #170,000 and also the need for a working structure to curb all the growing excesses in the alliance.
In response, the proactive Dean promised that a fresh election will be conducted in B'Court Students Alliance which will be preceded with the formation of a working electoral committee. He also added that IMSU on-campus hostels will be functional soon. He furthered that he'd hold a meeting with hostel owners and caretakers next week Monday.
