Team PLASRUBO and Team KIO HERITAGE will now fly the Imo State University, Owerri (IMSU) flag at the regionals of the Hult Prize international contest.
Recall that Team PLASRUBO emerged winners at the sub-national Hult Prize finals which held on the 12th of December, 2018 in Owerri, Imo State - with Teams KIO HERITAGE and PITCHFARM coming in second and third places respectively.
Akaehielam Ikenna Ronald, Emeghara Obed Best and Udeh Emmanuel A. (all from the department of Industrial Chemistry) as members of Team PLASRUBO will represent IMSU at the Hult Prize regionals in Abuja billed for the 15th and 16th of March, 2019 while their counterpart Team KIO HERITAGE will head to Accra, the capital of Ghana for the regionals of the idea-pitching contest as IMSU reps on the 22nd and 23rd of March, 2019.
Speaking with IMSU STAR NEWSPAPER Correspondent, the Campus Director of IMSU Hult Prize Abel Uchegbulam, expressed gratitude to God for the success of the IMSU Hult Prize on-campus contest. He remained optimistic that should the issue of funding be sorted out the IMSU reps will do well in Abuja and Accra and eventually pick another two spots for the finals in New York.
Should Team PLASRUBO and Team KIO HERITAGE emerge winners in Abuja and Accra respectively, they'll automatically qualify for the finals which will be held in New York City and also pitch for the chance to claim the $1M prize in the United Nations/Hult Prize international on-campus contest.
