JCCF IMSU PRESIDENT REACTS: What I Said Was Clear And That's What I Still Stand On - Freshers' Night Party Should Be Made Optional - Pst. Ernest

JCCF IMSU PRESIDENT REACTS: What I Said Was Clear And That's What I Still Stand On - Freshers' Night Party Should Be Made Optional - Pst. Ernest

Duru Victor

The social media space as well as offline of IMSU and environs was agog with a statement credited to the Joint Christian Campus Fellowship (JCCF) President IMSU Chapter, Pastor Ernest Ugonna Ezekwere at the just concluded Inaugural Students Assembly in IMSU in which it was alleged that he demanded that the Freshers' Night Party be outrightly banned.

The President has maintained his stance as well as defended his statement. In a chat he granted to our correspondent on Sunday, being the 11th of November, 2018, Pst. Ernest is quoted as saying: "What i said was clear and that's what i still stand on. Freshers' night party should be made optional. Reason being that christians do not believe in what happens there. Alcoholism, fine if you want to do it, but we don't believe in it.

Secular music and a lot of other things and we are saying that it remains optional. If anybody wants to go ahead with it, fine. But nobody should be mandated in any department, in any faculty, in any hostel else JCCF won't take it lightly because christians are being maltreated seriously. You walk into people's hostel, you seize their stuffs because they refused to comply.

You won't do that to the cultist, you won't do that to the native doctor. You walk into a pastor's room, you lock the gate and you tell him he that he will not leave. I mean, that's practically an insult on the body of Christ.

What we are saying is, if you want to party, fine, if you don't want to, fine. But nobody should be forced for any such thing. That's the appeal we sounded and we stand by it".

What do you think?

Samuel Ekani Is Not A Student Of Imo State University - Dean Students Affairs Roars

Duru Victor

Recall that on Friday 2nd of November, 2018 reports emerged and circulated in various online and print media, of an IMSU student - one Samuel Ekani - who was allegedly arrested in Works Layout, Owerri for armed robbery alongside some other fellow by men of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS).

The Dean Students Affairs, Prof. Martins Uchenna has now revealed that Samuel Ekani is not a student of Imo State University, Owerri (IMSU) and declared such reports as false.

Speaking to Imo Stars and dignitaries at the Inaugural Students Assembly of Imo State University held at the University Auditorium on Thursday, the digital Dean expressly said: "....they said one of our students was arrested for his involvement in armed robbery. But I tell you, it is not true. He is not our student and not one of us".

IMSU VC Returns From Oversea Trip, Attends First Solemn Assembly Of The Session (Photos)

Reporters: Mr. Wright & Duru Victor

October edition of IMSU solemn assembly was indeed lit and special, and the reasons are not farfetched. For one, it had in attendance our amiable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mrs Adaobi Victoria Obasi who recently returned to the country from an oversea trip and the other is that it is the first solemn assembly for the 2018/2019 academic session.

The October Special Prayer solemn assembly themed possessing your possession, as usual, was held at the school auditorium today being the 17th of October, 2018 by 10:00am. Other prominent officials of the school at the assembly include former HOD of Political Science, Prof. Bernard Thompson Ikegwuoha as well as directors.

Dr. (Rev.) Fidel Onuoha was the presiding minister of this month's edition.

One hopes that the VC's return will see an end to the already lingering NASU IMSU strike.

Reporter: Duru Victor

The immediate past Imo State University, Owerri (IMSU) Students Union Government (SUG), 16th Republic Director of Information, Comr. Godwin Joseph Desmond, popularly known as Channels  is a year older today.

The mark of a true visionary is his ability to imagine the future and act on it, yielding great results in the process and then using this success for the benefit of others and there's no better way to celebrate such a great leader who has wrought his way to the hearts of Imo Stars and beyond with his awesomeness and leadership than to compile a list of things that make this individual unique -of course with permission from the celebrant to Infoscope Media.

Top 10 unique things about Comr. Godwin Joseph Desmond (pka Channels)

1. He is a farmer - Few would have expected this to top the list but it is true. Channels is a farmer and a Swineherd at that. What this means is that he owns and runs a pig farm. Unique, isn't it?

2. He is a model and a comrade - Now this great personality is multi-talented. Aside being a model, he is a charastic fellow in the Aluta struggle - I.e he is a comrade. In his modelling career, he was the 2017 Ambassador of the Mr Universe Imo Contest and has a rich political C.V.
