IAUE Suspends Four Lecturers

Reporting from IGNATIUS AJURU UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION (IAUE)



Going with the directives from the Rivers State Governor, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, to the vice Chancellor of the state own tertiary institution, to stop the bad actions of lectures towards students and generally bad actions in the tertiary institution, four lecturers have been suspended for two months and without a pay.

The lecturers were found guilty for demanding gratification from students for Teaching Practice Supervision, extortion of money as appreciation for courses taught, forceful sale of their books with condition of "no buying, no exam success"

The vice Chancellor commended the students for taking such action and want other students to feel free to report similar situations

Out of the four lecturers suspended, three are from the Department of Secretarial Studies, Faculty of Business Studies while one is from the Department of Curriculum Studies and Instructional Technology, Faculty of Education.
