The President, Joint Christian Campus Fellowship (JCCF) IMSU Chapter, Pst. Ernest Ugonna Ezekwere has appealed to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) Victoria Adaobi Obasi to ban outrightly freshers' night party.

Pst. Ernest made this appeal yesterday at the inaugural Students Assembly held at the University Auditorium during the question and answer segment. According to him, "It is a night party where fresh students are initiated into cultism and prostitution".

Pst. Ernest's - popularly called "The Anointed Voice" - appeal was greeted with wide dismay and vituperations from students present yesterday while he was applauded by some.

The Vice Chancellor reacting to the appeal pointed out that the university is a citadel of learning and as such students should "desist from anything that is not good and doesn't glorify God". She also lauded JCCF IMSU for being good ambassadors of the faith.

Meanwhile, the appeal has continued to generate a lot of controversy both online and offline.
