This to inform the general public that the Sale of the FUTO 2017/2018 academic session PRE-DEGREE form has commenced.
Any interested candidate should pay a
non-refundable fee of Eleven Thousand
Naira (N11,000) only through the
University Website ( www.futo.edu.ng ) and
fill the Application Form Online.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

All Candidates wishing to purchase the
form must:

(i) Possess at least five O’ Level credit
passes in English Language, Mathematics,
Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Agric
Science.

(ii) Have registered or intend to register
and must sit for the 2018 UTME.

RRR code (Remita Retrieval Reference)
and proceed to any commercial bank of your choice to make payment.

— After successful payment in bank,
return to the portal.

— Click on 2017/2018 Pre Degree Application.

— Enter your phone number again
and click on apply.

— Proceed with the completion of
the Application form.

— Print your application acknowledgment slip.

— Finally, await further announcement from the University.

HIGH LEVEL OF ROBBERY ATTACK IN EZIOBODO, FUTO ROAD

It is no news that the Federal University Of Technology Owerri rounded off with her Rain(Second) Semester exams on Saturday 18th November, 2017.

It is also pertinent to note that some students stayed back in school for various vital purposes.

For instance the 200L students of School of Agriculture & Agricultural Technology stayed back to do their Students' Industrial Work Experience Scheme, 200L Students of Mechatronics Engineering too, etc. 

Most final years stayed back to round off with their Final Year Projects and Defence.

Most of these students reside in lodges located at Eziobodo, FUTO Road.
As at Monday morning, we have gotten about 5 reports of robbery attack.

These guys attack mostly lodges with two or three occupants left, lodges that ain't crowded anymore just because it will be difficult for people to catch them.

One of the victims who claims that they took his phone, told INFOSC🔍PE MEDIA that most times they go to their water supply and disrupt it or they can unplug their generators, just to make them want to open the door.

In a particular lodge which had only one occupant remaining who is a final year, they knew that he was around with the clothes he hung outside.

Good a thing Lectures for 2017/2018 session starts next year(January 8th, 2017) and most Final Years are done with their final defence. 

We advice you travel back home and stay with your people instead of falling victims of robbery attacks.

For those of us who are engaged with one business or the other, you can relocate to lodges that has much number of occupants presently and is secured to avoid falling victims.

OH YES!!, THE REGISTRATION PROCESSES FOR FRESHMEN GIVEN MERIT, JUPEB (YEARS 1 & 2), DIRECT ENTRY AND BATCH A SUPPLEMENTARY ADMISSION STUDENTS FOR THE 2017/2018 ACADEMIC SESSION HAS STARTED.

We want to inform you that the ongoing NASU Strike didn't totally affect the registration processes.
We encourage you come to school for your registration (Collection of Green File) to do all the necessary clearance now that the school hasn't kicked off with Lectures to avoid any disturbances or hindrances during your lecture period.

Remember their is a timetable for the registration, although even if you missed the date for your department, you can still come and do your clearance.

EXTENSION DELIVERY APPROACHES;

Technology Transfer: This type of extension approach is a genetic top down approach focused primarily on the tools and methods of production of basic food crops.

Participatory Approach: This type of extension approach is a farmer-led approach in which farmers identify their problems and discuss them with extension and advisory agents to find appropriate solutions.

Other approaches includes; Training & Visits, Project Approaches, Farmer Field School (FFS), Farmer-fish and Farmer to Farmer Engagements among others.

Conclusion:
We recommend and appreciate the Participatory Approaches for use in disseminating PKC technologies.

STRATEGIES OF IMPROVING PKC NUTRITIVE VALUE FOR POULTRY & PIGS.

Conclusion:

PKC can be included in Poultry diets (30%) and piggery (60%), provided the cost of maize & other grains justify it.

Commercial exogenous feed enzymes are only effective in improving nutritive value of PKC if only they have the potential to breakdown the Mannan in PKC.

Understanding the physiochemical characteristics as well as the microstructure of PKC  is key to developing effective technologies for its use in livestock feeding.

Conclusion:

Based on findings, the major constraints faced by the respondents were, use of crude methods in milling, lack of credit facilities and intensive labour during milling.

The result of this study calls for producers to form cooperatives for alternative sources of funds to replace obsolete machines, organize training workshops on new technologies to reduce labour cost.
