Management Department HOD's Cup Final: 200 level defeats 300 level by a lone goal to emerge champions

Management Department HOD's Cup Final: 200 level defeats 300 level by a lone goal to emerge champions

(200 level players)

 (300 level players)

Duru Victor reporting...

Record was set and the history books of Management department of Faculty of Business Administration ,IMSU as regards football, altered as 200 level players edged out 300 level players with a lone goal to emerge champions of the 2018 edition of the H.O.D's Cup.

Recall, on the road to the final which went down today, the 200 level put up a spirited performance that saw out the freshmen with a 2-1 scoreline. The 300 level players, known for their resilience in defence, on the other hand dismissed the 400 level players with a 2 nil scoreline.

At the blast of the whistle, both sides played it safe and didn't pose much threat to the other side obviously a tactical approach you would say.
And the game wore on, sweats dripped, tempers flared, nerves increased and fans chanted the support of their respective teams -Like an El-clasico it was!

No doubt to the dismay of the 300 level players, the 200 level took the lead. The goal came in the 42nd minute of the game by the wonderful effort of the 200 level Captain, Sixtus who dribbled his way past the opponent's goalie, in a one-on-one situation, and slotted the ball into the net.

At the start of the second half, the 300 level players were on the offensive and threatened more in the game including a wonderful goal-bound freekick that was denied by the heroics of the opponent's goalie, Ugo.

In all it was a game that lived up to its billing.
