It is no longer news that the Harmattan Semester Examination of the Federal University of Technology is currently on going.
If you have observed clearly, you would have noticed the digging of lands & fixing of underground pipes in some areas all over the campus...
NOW LET ME EXPLAIN TO YOU WHAT'S EXACTLY GOING ON...
Early this Semester, the School Management kicked off the Set Up of several standards for short-range wireless data transmission (Wi — Fi) within a calculated distance in the school (The Hostel Terrain Especially)...
Ever since, FUTO Students have frowned at the low band width capacity and the slow browsing speed of the Wi—Fi Connection in the hostels and also at the duration for the stability of the network.
Your complaints has been heard by this School Management and currently the ongoing digging of lands & fixing of pipes with network cables is in response to that issue.
The engineers you are seeing inside campus on green apron are doing what we call "Fibre Optics"... This means the transmission of light through fine flexible glass or plastic fibres, especially as a medium for communications networks.
They are fixing those underground pipes with network lines to expand the band width of the Wi—Fi connection and the network strength to a 3G+ Speed.
You would not have to stress yourself standing on your hostel balcony to search for network.

FUTO goes digital indeed.
