C. ELIGIBILITY TO CONTEST FOR ANY POSITION
For a member to be eligible to contest for any position, he/she must be;
1) Active member of the association with valid NUESA ID Card.
2) Have spent at least one academic session as a member of the association.
3) Be a full financial member of the association.
4) Be a person of reputation, free from guilty of official corruption.
5) Not be a member of any known political party or cult.
6) The Post of the President, Vice President, Secretary General, Financial Secretary, & Technical Secretary are exclusively reserved for year three students.
The post of the Provost is reserved for year two students.
The posts of the Vice President & Treasurer are reserved for females.
Other positions can be contested by both genders.
7) Any aspiring candidate for any position must have a minimum of CGPA 2.50 points while for the president, a minimum of 3.0 points.
D. ELECTORAL BY-LAWS
1) The following will lead to the disqualification of aspirants.
a) Printing of fliers and posters.
b) Calling of recharge cards in lecture halls, sharing of pens and other forms of enticement.
N/B: This is in order to save cost for the aspirants.
2) Any candidate aspiring, can do a one-on-one campaign, media/online awareness, or classroom sensitization.
3) Only card-carrying members of NUESA will be allowed to vote during the elections. Endeavor to visit the NUESA Secretariat to register or get your ID-Card if you have already registered.
