UNITED LABOUR CONGRESS THREATENS TO EMBARK ON AN INDEFINITE STRIKE FROM FRIDAY

The United Labour Congress after an emergency meeting of its National Administrative Committee with the National Strike Committee, has threatened to embark on an indefinite strike action if the Federal Government fails to fulfill it's ordeal by Friday (tomorrow).

In a statement signed by the united labour congress President, Comr. Joe Ajaero, he advised Nigerians to stock up their necessities, stating that "The strike would be effective as we hope to cut off petroleum product supplies, ensure total blackout, cripple all means of transportation within the nation, and disrupt banking operations which will make life difficult for citizens of Nigerians.

" We regret these measures we're taking but then we hope to build a government that is better governed for the benefits of Nigerian workers & masses."

The president stated that the strike became necessary having earlier issued a 14-day ultimatum to the FG as a result of the decision by the central working committee meeting by the congress on August 22nd which expired on September 8th.

He added that in view of the FG's reluctance to act accordingly, the ULC issued a 7-days final strike notice which will expire tomorrow.

"We therefore call on all genuine patriots to join hands in solidarity with us to urge the FG & state governors to meet the demands  her workers & the masses".... He stated
