The National
Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has disclosed to the general public
that it is not involved in the planned protest by the expelled students of FUTO
(as regards the rampage on the 17th of February 2017, led by Ogbonna
Collins (AKA Rochas).
In a Statement released
by Comr. Pedro Chibuzoe the National Association of Nigerian Students Zone B Coordinator,
he urged FUTO students to keep calm and resume academic activities. Adding that
NANS is engaging the school authorities to resolve any perceived wrong deed and
wondered why anybody would contemplate another round of crisis.
Recall that the arrow
head of the protest on the 17th , Ogbonna Collins Rochas alongside
other five were expelled by the FUTO Management after finding them guilty as
charged.
However, the Students
Union Government Executives said it was in talks to ensure that those found not
culpable are recalled.
The National
Association of Nigerian Students accuses Ogbonna Collins of doing the bidding
of his political pay masters by taking laws into his hands thereby terrorizing
the peace of the institution in the name of peaceful protest.
“We are not known for
violence and criminality on our campuses. We strongly condemn this act in
strong terms”, the statement read in part.
NANS appealed to all students
of FUTO to disassociate themselves from any form of gathering that may lead to
another breakdown of law and order via Protest, adding that she will continue
to appeal for the reinstatement of those expelled but have followed the part of
peace, modesty, remorse and ready to graduate.
