Cathedral bomb explosion kills 25 in Cairo

A bomb blast during Sunday mass, target at worshippers near St Mark's cathedral in central Cairo, kills 25.

The explosion teared through St Peter's church which is besides St Mark's cathedral the Coptic Orthodox church for Christians around 10:00am local time, wounding another 49 people according to egyptian health agency.

Though St Mark's cathedral is under renovation while St Peter's was used to conduct services.

With regards to the incident, President Abdel Fattah described the blast as a terrorist attack that has no place in his country.
He has declared a national mourning.
