Reacting to a news report that the 145 naira per litre is not sustainable, Mr Garba-Deen, General Manager Public Affairs Division Of The NNPC explained that the statement was not taken in the right context.
He said: “The bottom line is that there is absolutely no plan by the Federal Government to do so and there is no need to do it because we have more than enough supply. We have a very robust stock of products.But if there is any reason to do so, the agency in charge of fixing petrol price (PPPRA) would do so.
“In addition to that we also have long term procurement contracts with our suppliers. So, the major reasons that will necessitate any review of price at the moment have been well taken care of.”
