BREAST CANCER AWARENESS(FIGHT LIKE A GIRL) — IKE JUSTICE ZUBBY

 Breast cancer is cancer that develops from breast tissue. It is the most common invasive cancer in women, and the second main cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer.

The chance of any woman dying from breast cancer is around 1 in 37, or 2.7 percent.

Therefore the need to create the awareness is very Crucial, as its a faster means of reducing the risk.
Breast Cancer can also affect the men but it's only in rare cases.

Signs of breast cancer may include a lump in the breast, a change in breast shape, dimpling of the skin, fluid coming from the nipple, or a red scaly patch of skin, a pain in the armpits or breast that does not change with the monthly cycle.

Note that most lumps are not cancerous, but women should have them checked by a health care professional.

CAUSES:
Causes of Breast Cancer includes Obesity, lack of exercise, high alcohol intake, smoking of tobacco (Indian hemp, cannabis, cocaine etc), hormone replacement therapy during menopause, cosmetic implants and breast cancer survival ionizing radiation, early age at first menstruation, having children late or not at all, older age, family history, Klinefelter syndrome(A genetic condition in which a male is born with two X chromosomes) etc.

TREATMENTS:
Treatment will depend on the type of breast cancer, the stage of the cancer, sensitivity to hormones, the patient's age, overall health, and preferences.
The main options include: radiation therapy, surgery, biological therapy, or targeted drug therapy, hormone therapy, chemotherapy.

It always advisable for women to go for regular check ups to know their status. Also when you notice any of the above symptoms, it is important that you run to a doctor for proper biopsy (The removal and examination of a sample of tissue, cells, or bodily fluid from a living body for diagnostic purposes).

LET ME TELL YOU A STORY;

I witnessed a case where a particular university lady who has being feeling pains around her breast region since her year one but kept quite and took for a normal pain.
Anytime the pain starts, instead of going to a hospital, she would use ice water on her breast to calm down the pain stress.

For Four solid years, she continued bearing the pains and wouldn't see a doctor. Doing her graduation, she became engaged to a certain man who promised her Love and Affection.
Everything was going on well with the marriage preparation until 3 months to their wedding, the pain came back and her husband decided to take her to the hospital for treatment only to find out that his fiancée was diagnosed of breast cancer.
The doctor said that hers has entered the dangerous and final stage and that she needed to undergo surgery as soon as possible.

There are different stages of Breast Cancer;

Stage 0: Known as ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), the cells are limited to within a duct and have not invaded surrounding tissues.

Stage 1: At the beginning of this stage, the tumor is up to 2 centimeters (cm) across and it has not affected any lymph nodes.

Stage 2: The tumor is 2 cm across and it has started to spread to nearby nodes.

Stage 3: The tumor is up to 5 cm across and it may have spread to some lymph nodes.

Stage 4: The cancer has spread to distant organs, especially the bones, liver, brain, or lungs.

After the diagnosis, her future husband became confused and disappointed. He was always seeking advice from his friends whether to move on with the marriage or cancel it. Finally he decided to cancel it and moved on with another lady, reasons that he couldn't bear the shame, the stigma, the public mockery etc of his supposedly engaged wife.
A month later she killed herself via over drugging.

WORDS OF ADVICE:
You should know that on a yearly basis(ie every year), most women of the world are been diagnosed of breast cancer at different stages. It is okay to be diagnosed of breast cancer.

Earlier detection of pains or lumps around your breast region requires immediate medical attention at a hospital.
Noticing the symptoms at the early stage and keeping it to yourself for reasons best known to you is a very very bad idea.
Neglect whatever fear you may have that's stopping you from going for check ups and go, if not when it gets to a dangerous stage, it would be really really bad for you.
Why not save yourself the future stress, and go for a Breast Cancer checkup at the nearest specialist hospital today...??
