TIPS TO ACHIEVING SUCCESS IN POST-UTME EXAMINATION

TIPS TO ACHIEVING SUCCESS IN POST-UTME EXAMINATION

Below are the various tips towards excelling well in any institution. Though this one was tagged for FUTO students but same applies to all other schools.

— BE COMMITTED:

You have barely 3 weeks to prepare for your SMOOTH ADMISSION into the Prestigious Federal University of Technology Owerri, there's no much time!!...
I know most of you have actually been preparing for this hour but don't relent. For those of you who aren't ready yet, there's still a little time to cook up something. Get practicing as soon as possible and make time for practice. Forget about your friends, your lovers, etc and be committed towards success. Focus on the areas you find hardest, focus the majority of your time on these questions. Keep practicing, once you’ve practiced as many tests as possible maintain your skills through question practice right up until the day before your test. Stick to your timings, if you get stuck move on. Further to this don’t simply guess, the more practice you undertake the easier you’ll find it to make educated guesses by ruling out unlikely answers – this will come with practice though.

— TIME MANAGEMENT:

Now FUTO POST-UTME is usually a Computer based test or a Paper & pencil based test as the case may be. You can't be successful in the Aptitude test if you ain't fast both in Reading & Clicking for CBT and in Shading your Optical Marked Result sheet for PPT.
The exam environment of FUTO will always look scary but I want to assure you that ALL IS WELL. You just need to focus on your own answer script as there would be no much time for you to waste on that day (maximum of 45mins). Once you get into the hall; for CBT,......You will be given a password sort of for your computer, once you log in, your time starts counting and for you to be successful, start tackling the questions you know very well before you go into the ones that are a bit critical. Do the same if it turns out to be PPT.

— PUT GOD IN-CHARGE:

Remember that the Almighty God is the CEO of Success, he's the only Question Manipulator, he's your All & All, he's your beginning and your end. After much stress in preparations on your part, you have to commit yourself, your knowledge to him via prayers.
He would give you the power to embrace any anxiety you feel on the day of the examination. While adrenaline and nervousness can be distracting if you’ve prepared sufficiently you can calmly reflect on your practice and be confident you can beat the POST-UTME.

Academic Staff Union Of Polytechnics rejects JAMB cut off

Academic Staff Union Of Polytechnics rejects JAMB cut off

The Academic Staff Union Of Polytechnics, ASUP has rejected the idea by the Joint Admissions and Management Board to set her National Cut off for at 110.

This was made known to us through the National President of ASUU, Mr. Usman Dutse in a phone call today. He said that the National cut off marks that JAMB created was pitiable and shouldn't be accepted.

READ ALSO» Federal Polytechnic Nekede Screening Process Released

Mr. Usman wondered what JAMB board was trying to achieve via making such a ridiculous decision. A candidate who took JAMB and scored 120 only passed 25% and that's failure even in the outside world, it isn't acceptable.

When a student applies for JAMB, he scores 120 and you tell him to go apply for Post-UTME, actually makes JAMB irrelevant.
"And the notion by JAMB that institutions can upgrade the mark to suit their needs funny, because if institutions can upgrade the marks higher than JAMB's stipulated cut off, it equally means that there's no need for people to write JAMB"......he said
So we feel that its of no Relevance to accept the decision.

The Occupants of Owerri Municipal frowned at the idea, their reasons been; the market is an Ancestral market, it is the main market for occupants of Owerri main town, taking it to Ohi, Mbaitolu LGA, would shift their major source of Revenue to some other people,.... etc

But the Governor insisted that he was going to carry out his plan, his reasons been that he wants to rearrange, rebuild, republish & reconstruct Douglas and Owerri Municipal as a whole.
On Thursday 24th August, the Governor gave them 2 days Ultimatum to park out else he would force them to.

JAMB SLASHES CUT OFF MARK FOR ADMISSIONS INTO TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS

JAMB SLASHES CUT OFF MARK FOR ADMISSIONS INTO TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS

JAMB REINTRODUCE POST-UTME AND SLASH CUT-OFF MARKS FOR ADMISSION

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has slashed the minimum national cut-off mark for admissions into universities and other degree awarding institutions in Nigeria at 120 in line with the new flexible admission policy of the Board.

The Board has also pegged the cut-off points for Polytechnics and Colleges of Education at 100, while that of the Monotechnics is fixed tentatively at 110.

Federal Government has made U-turn on the cancellation of the Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) by reintroducing the conduct of the examination by tertiary institutions and also directed institutions not to sale post UTME forms more than two thousand Naria (#2000).

Talking to news men, the JAMB registrar  Prof. Is-haq Oloyede said that what the above means is that universities will not go beyond the stipulated minimum cut-off mark for their admission processes but will be allowed to determine their cut-off marks.

Finally, he concluded by saying that Admissions into Public degree awarding institutions for the 2017 UTME examination will end January 15th, 2018 while for Private institutions will end on January 31st, 2018.
