Wenger's Top African Signings

We look at Arsene Wenger's best African signings since the french man took over the london club since 1996.

 Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor
Position - foward
Year      -   2006- 2009
Fee       -     £3m
Scored on his debut against birmingham. Was named in 2007/2008  PFA team of the year, won the BBC African best player and goal of the season award. He ended up making 104 league appearances for Arsenal scoring 46 goals.


Nwankwo kanu
Position - foward
Year      -   1999- 2004
Fee         -   £4.2m
He scored some important goals off the bench for the gunners.In the 1999-2000 season he scored 17 times for the Gunners, including a hat-trick in fifteen minutes against Chelsea to turn a 2–0 deficit into
a 3–2 victory. He scored 44 goals in 197 appearances for the london side winning
the league title and FA cup in the process.



Alexandre Song
Position - midfield
Year - 2006 - 2012
Fee  - £1m
At Arsenal Song established  himself as one of best defensive midfielders in world football appearing over 200 times for the gunners. He also won Arsenal  player of the season voted by the fans.



Kolo Toure
Position - centre back
Year - 2002- 2009
Fee - £150,000
One of Arsenal most conssistent defenders for year. Won the Fa cup and premier league with Arsenal. Appeared  252 times for the london side.




Laureano Etame- mayer
Position - full back
Year - 2000 - 2006
Fee- £7.2m
He was both useful in defence and midfield. After early struggles, he established himslef as the club's first choice right back and also one  of the best full backs in the league. Lauren appeared 159 times for Arsenal in the league winning major trophies.
