It was a glorious Monday afternoon at the Man O’ war
Flag Base, Federal University of Technology Owerri, MF6001. We saw the euphoria
of great men & women who have gathered to witness the 2016/17 MAN O’ WAR
PASSING OUT PARADE/INDUCTION OF NEW MEMBERS.
Present in the occasion was the Vice Chancellor of
Federal University of Technology, Prof. F. C. Eze, the Dean of Students’
Affairs, Prof. Alinnor, the University Public Relations Officer, the School
Liberian and some other great members of the Senate, the Aluta Restoration SUG
Executives honourably led by Rotr. Comr. Duru Donatus C. (GCSS), the members of
the Students’ Parliament honourably led by the Speaker – Hon. Frank Samuel,
past Man o’ War commanders, the prestigious students of FUTO the parents of outgoing
and newly inducted officers, friends and well-wishers.
During the Outgoing Speech of the outgoing Man O’
Commander-in-Chief, Patriot Sambo, made clear that Man O’ War Nigeria, FUTO
Command is an institutional arm of the organization whose business is to uphold
the personalities of students and their behavioral conduct. He said ‘I have
been able to successfully achieve exclusive things in the past one year,
including Peaceful environment, Renovation of the Man o’ War Flag Base, Man o’
War Uniforms, Acquiring a good number of security gadgets like touch lights,
walky-talky communication gadgets, good relationship between FUTO students,
staffs & the command, ensuring good discipline between members of the
command, quick response to any security threat in the campus, terminating cult
activities in the campus. All these achievements were made possible by the
joint effort of the entire school management, our amiable VC Prof. F. C. Eze,
supreme wall council and ever supportive dean of students’ affairs, Prof.
Alinnor, with the zealous team of Hall Administrators.
Though he also pointed out some of their challenges
which include Lack of Man O’ War Secretariat, Funding of Man O’ War Citizens
and Leadership Training Center, combining their academics with rendering
security services to the school.
During the induction of new members by the States
Commander, Patriot Frankling Anyawu who happened to be a one time
Commander-in-Chief of FUTO Command, he promised FUTO VC that there won’t be any
atom of stealing in his campus again; all cult activities in the campus will be
fully terminated.
Before Patriot Sambo could totally handover the sword of power to the new Commander-in-Chief, they had to drag the sword, it didn't come out easily...

During the speech by the new Commander-in-Chief,
Patriot Ibezimako Micheal, he thanked the outgoing Commander-in-Chief for his
hardworking selfless attitude to the general members of Man O’ War FUTO
Command. He also appreciated the school management for their support.
The Vice Chancellor of Federal University of
Technology Owerri, who happened to be the Chairman of the Occasion, thanked the
general members of Man O’ War FUTO Command for their struggle to see that FUTO
remains a discipline & cult free institution and assured them of total
backup & support from the school management.
He also promised them that he will look into the Man
O’ War Secretariat building and some other challenges that they earlier pointed
out.
