UPDATED: ASUU, FG TO MEET ON THURSDAY


The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, will on Thursday 7th September, 2017, hold a crucial meeting (continue negotiations) with the Federal Government of Nigeria as regards settling the dispute that led to the ongoing industrial action by University Lecturers.

Recall that, the federal government had offered to pay N23 billion and a monthly payment of N1.5 billion pending the outcome of the forensic audit being carried out by the Ministry of Finance on various universities.

During ASUU's National Executive Council last meeting, we learnt that they rejected the offer by the FG due to lack for trust & honesty on the part of FG.

ASUU didn't come for the last meeting they were supposed to have with the FG due to their own misunderstanding but the president of ASUU, yesterday confirmed that they would honour tomorrow's meeting.
