How to get your WhatsApp friends status images and videos

Ok. Guys since WhatsApp introduced the version which included snapchat's story feature, a lot of people bug me asking me to share one gif or the other. Sometimes I would want to request from them but I don't like to bug people. So I just keep my cool.

As we all know, this version uses pictures, gifs and short videos as status although in later versions, they have brought back the use of texts as status.

This post is about how you get the videos, gifs and pictures of your friends they use as status. Unlike the profile picture you just click "save to gallery" and it saves, this trick is totally different.

Let me spare you the long talk. Here are the steps to follow below;

1. View the pictures or videos you want to take.

2. Go to your device storage and locate the "WhatsApp" folder. It could be in SD card or internal storage.

3. Inside the WhatsApp folder click on "Media" folder.

4. Press the options button and select "Show hidden files"

5. You will see a folder named ".Statuses"

6. Long press on it to rename it.

7. Remove the dot and save.

8. All the statuses you have viewed on WhatsApp should now be visible to you. You can go to your gallery to view them and share with your friends.
