Former Big Brother Naija Housemate ‘Nina’ Alongside Miss BBB Meets IMSU Vice Chancellor

Imsu Elijah

Former big brother Naija housemate, Nina Chinonso Onyenobi has returned back to school. She met with the University Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) Victoria Adaobi Obasi alongside Lilian Nkechi, Winner Miss Big, Bold and Beautiful (BBB) recently in her office.

Recall that while Nina was in the big brother house, Prof Adaobi Obasi reportedly said she (Nina) will undergo Moral Rehabilitation upon return. This she said is to purge her from any bad influences she might have picked up while featuring on the BBN show.

Below are reactions from online users on the visit:

hope the VC talked to her that "she needs to undergo MORAL REHABILITATION"as once carried by many dalies

IMSU Vice Chancellor Disowns 'fake' memo on fees, insists Education is free in IMSU

Reporter: Duru Victor

The Vice Chancellor of Imo State University, Owerri, Prof (Mrs)Adaobi Obasi has denied a memo circulating demanding students/parents to payN92,5000 as tuition fees for 500 level students,N55,500 and for 300 level students.N740,000, for 400 level respectively.

Prof Obasi while interacting with Journalists in Owerri, expressed disappointment and disbelief on a purported memo from her office as signed by one Mrs Rose- Kate Ogbu which was copied to her office and the office of the Head of Department, Nursing Science. She said that the letter is a big embarrassment concocted to deceive and defraud the parents and guardians as well as to embarrass the government of Owelle Rochas Okorocha who has offered free and qualitative education since his assumption of office as the Executive governor of Imo State.

,
According to Trumpeta Newspaper, The University Don, Prof Obasi who insisted that education remains free in Imo State University challenged any student who claimed to have paid any fee in form of tuition or school fees since 2012 when she assumed duties at the University to come forward with proof of such statement while she would gladly refund.

In a press statement signed by the public relations officer of IMSU, Nze Raph Njoku-Obi, “The attention of the University Management team read thus “has been drawn to a memorandum in circulation purportedly signed by the Vice Chancellor, Acting Registrar and Head of Department, Nursing Science on the subject “Adjustment on the calendar of event in 2ndsemester 2017/2018 Academic session for “No Payment, No Examination policy”.

The press statement warned that the memo is fake as it never emanated from the school authorities. He advised parents and students to disregard it. The memo emphasized that free education remains on course in Imo State. Whereas non-indigenes of Imo State are those to pay tuition fees ranging on their various faculties.

The University authorities stated that the only payment by Imo State indigenes remains ancillary charges ofN19,500.00, which should be paid through a bank draft.

Earlier, Prof Adaobi Obasi told journalists that her era as the vice chancellor has witnessed a turn around with the accreditation of 64 courses including medicine and law faculties. She lauded governor Okorocha for the regular release of the monthly subvention to the Imo State University.
