As IMSU community gets consumed by the Faculty week 2018, Faculty of Humanities have yet again presented activities that are one of a kind.

Spelling bee, quiz, essay writing and debate contests are part of the so many thrills of this year's Humanities week 2018.

This year's edition themed Humanities in Modern Age: How far? How well? What next? is a blend of artistic talents display and cultural festivities and include top-notch events and activities and they have well been outlined below:

A world-class fashion meets entertainment contest in collaboration with Imo state government, packed by AYO event, an IMSU undergraduate with a difference.

This is part of programs making Faculty of Education week. The training will be delivered live in IMSU by Google. This is the second time the large brand is storming the campus to empower students.

All roads lead to IMSU auditorium come Monday, 25th of June, 2018 as Business Faculty (FOBASA) premiers  Frontier Magazine.

The magazine premier,under the leadership of Comr. Teaser-led excos,  hosted by the Faculty of Business Administration Students Association (FOBASA) is the first of events that will usher in the Faculty week celebrations. Kick off time is 10:00am

Business week 2018 themed Entrepreneurship Orientation: A tool for national development has the Dean of the faculty, Prof. C. C. Alugbuo as the Chief Host.

Speakers billed to grace this occasion include International and public speaking giant, Dr. Linus Okorie, the reputable Hon. Remy Chukwunyere and a host of others.

Remarkably, GTBank, a sponsor of the magazine premier, promises free ATM/I.D cards, free bank accounts and lots of goodies for the first 200 scholars to grace the occasion.

Dr. Lens has emerged the winner of the Okwu-Uratta Students Alliance (OSA), IMSU election held today in a free, fair and credible contest. Dr. Lens slugged it out with and defeated Temple and Opac to emerge the President-Elect, (OSA), 6th Republic.

Also, Active mama became the Official "Wife-Elect" of the president elect OSA defeating her opponent Freeda.

It's IMSU Faculty Week 2018. And to mark this memorable week, Nigerian Association of Science Students (NASS) IMSU Chapter have billed classic and one-of-a-kind activities for Students of the Faculty of Science.

This year's edition themed The 21st Century Scientist: Challenges and Opportunities is slated for 25th-28th June, 2018. As is the tradition, the faculty week is a lecture-free week.

The activities for Science Week 2018 -which will kick off 9:00 am daily- are highlighted below:

IMSU: Activities Lined-Up For Faculty Of Education Student’s Week Celebration (No.3 Will Shock You)


Second semester of every session in Imo state university is usually filled with activities ranging from academic to non-academic to religious to cultural and sporting. One of such Programs is the Faculty week which most students look up to. Some students call it the final year week, while others tag it faculty week.

According to the Faculty President, Education Students Association of Nigeria (ESAN), Mr. Joseph Collins (SUCCESS) who spoke to us recently, ESAN week as it’s fondly called by students is set out to create rooms and opportunities for the them to showcase their skills and creativity during the colour carnival, their sportsmanship in sports and their sense of traditional culture during the Cultural day.

Monday to Friday has been given as lecture free days for all students in the faculty because of the activities involved in the week. Starting from the first day down to the last day, real fun activities are lined up, He explained.

The week slated to commence Mon. 25th – Fri. 29th June will be exceptional and fun-filled. The venue/ take off point for all activities remain the Faculty Large Hall. Below is the schedule of activities.

The office of the President, Education Students Association of Nigeria (ESAN) in collaboration with Google, under the ongoing program Google digital skills for Africa, set to empower students of Education Faculty with digital skills training.

The digital education training is absolutely free and is in line with the promise of Comr. Success ESAN administration to empower Education Students in Imo state University ICT wise at little or no cost.

The expected outcome of this program is availing students with online skills and providing practical information on how to engage their students online and other ICT strategies to be employed for effective teaching and learning.

Students will also learn how to make money online, develop IT skills and win lots of prizes from Google.

It's new, different and it's going to be exciting. It is the Faculty of Education Students Association (ESA) week featuring lots of amazing activities from Monday 25th June - Fri. 29th June 2018.

The event is being anticipated to comprise: Corporate Day, Google digital Skill Acquisition,  Back to school/Old School Day, Cultural Day, Deans Cup, ESA carnival and Thanksgiving Service.

In an interview recently with Imsu Elijah, ESA President, Joseph Collins (Success) said the event is held in other to celebrate students of the faculty and also an opportunity to engage themselves socially and mingle with each other.

"All work and no play makes jack a dull boy" he said, maintaining that it would be an event to benefit students socially and academic wise.

The Faculty President acknowledged the unfailing efforts of his co-executives, saying the are the "back bone of the association".

He further went on to speak on the Google seminar which is slated to hold on Tuesday 26th June, at the Faculty hall, with the theme "Digital Education", it would be impact full to all that would participate, he said.

The Socials Director, Comrade Emmanuel Abraham (Jideobi) pledged readiness also saying that students should expect the event 'loud'. By God's grace, it is sure to be a success.
