CATHERINE CHIDOLUE HOSTEL: IMSU On-campus Twin-building Female Hostel Overtaken by Weed (SEE PHOTOS)

Reporters: Duru Victor & IMSU Hot Fm
Imo State University, Lake Nwaebere campus Owerri on-campus female hostel has been overtaken by weed.
The beautiful edifice which is a beneficiary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) grant of 2013 is a twin-building overlaid on a large expanse of land in a square-like shape and structure.
The hostel, named Catherine Chidolue Female Hostel, which is under lock and key has become home to tall grasses and weed. Due to it been out of bounds our correspondents couldn't gain access into the building however, on-ground pictures taken support and corroborate this report.
The university management clearly demonstrated that it has the interest of her daughters at heart with the construction of a hostel befitting of queens. No doubt IMSU female students are going to love it here.

The Vice Chancellor of Imo State University, Prof. Mrs. Victoria Adaobi Obasi on Wednesday, October 3rd, dedicated the University’s new ultramodern Senate Building.

The event which was witnessed by principal officers, staff and some student leaders of the University marked the official opening of the edifice, which will henceforth serve as the administrative hub of the University.

The 3-floor edifice occupies a strategic position in the University’s landscape with the Senate Chamber, offices, an elevator and a power backup system that protects the equipment in the complex from power outrage.

Speaking at the commissioning, Professor Adaobi said that nothing of greatness can happen in the life of a man or an institution without the great hand of God at work in such a life and institution.

BREAKING: NASU IMSU Embarks on Indefinite Strike (SEE OFFICIAL PHOTOS)

BREAKING: NASU IMSU Embarks on Indefinite Strike (SEE OFFICIAL PHOTOS)

Reporters: Duru Victor & IMSU HOT FM

Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) IMSU embarked on an indefinite strike today.
The strike they revealed, while staging a protest at IMSU Front gate in the early hours of today, was due to salaries arrears owed them by the state government. They also alleged marginalization.

However, attempts by our media team to reach any NASU IMSU official proved abortive while the CSO IMSU declined to comment on the issue as of time of filing this report.

Meanwhile academic activities resumed rather slowly today as some departments  began lectures today namely department of education government finalists of the faculty of education. Other departments are reported to resume in earnest with some resuming next week Monday.

However it remains to be seen if the recent NASU IMSU strike will affect the scheme of things.

1. Going to recreation spots: Some Nigerians will go to different recreation centres come Independence day. This include going to the beach. Others will go to amusement parks with their children.

2. Sleep and rest Due to the stress some Nigerians pass through between Mondays and Fridays, they will use the public holiday declared for Independence to sleep. Such people will not leave their house.

3. Visitation: Nigerians love visiting themselves. Some people have not had the time to even say hello to their friends for some time now. The celebration will afford them to pay for this.
